Current Job Description My work predominately focuses on sustainability related topics and policies that impact the food and grocery sector. I have an in-depth knowledge of retailers' and manufacturers' sustainability strategies, and relevant regulations.
I have facilitated and presented at industry events.
I have written and run one day training workshops on sustainability issues to leading retailers, manufacturers, logistic companies and trade organisations.
I have also been commissioned to deliver presentations and training to major companies within the food and grocery sector, such as Tesco, Asda, PepsiCo, Tetra Pak, Musgrave, Maersk Line and WRAP. I have excellent oral communication skills.
I am the deputy manager of IGD’s Industry Sustainability Working Group, which is a workgroup of 30 representatives from leading food and grocery retailers and manufacturers. I have an extensive network of sustainability contacts within the food industry and NGO community.
I have project managed numerous sustainability related conferences on packaging and water themes. This has involved creating the programme, securing speakers, marketing the event, running breakout sessions and ensuring delegates get the best from the day.
I have been commissioned by Tesco to project manage their 'Greening our Supply Chain' event. I secured over 10 speakers for the event from industry and chaired a breakout session.
Within IGD, I am a Corporate Responsibility Champion. I wrote IGD's Environmental Policy. I have calculated and help reduced IGD's corporate carbon footprint and developed a number of Corporate Responsibility initiatives.
I am also a representative for my department on IGD's HR Forum.
