The Importance of Air Quality Management Programs

E2 has two speakers at the upcoming SPF conference in Chicago, Ryan Bogner and Glenn Mayer, both speaking during the break out sessions "Air, Water, Energy, Carbon Management."

Management of air quality programs is often the most challenging of environmental programs faced by industry today. The nature of air quality regulations in the US and the realities of environmental management system requirements both in the United States and abroad make management of air issues a continuous, complex activity. Air professionals in our clients organizations are often called on to deal with basic recordkeeping requirements (e.g., coating volatile organic compounds (VOC) content) one moment and complex regulatory permitting issues in the next moment (e.g., application of New Source Review rules to mobile ocean going vessels).

Air issues have evolved from basic compliance to a position of either providing business opportunities or acting as an obstacle to corporate success. At E2, we understand this complexity and are experienced in providing our customers with support consistent with their needs. The need for a well managed and designed air program is more critical today than it has ever been.

We employ experienced air quality professionals with capabilities in nearly all aspects of air compliance, planning and permitting. The best approach to permitting and compliance activities is to seek the most appropriate solutions in terms of short and long term compliance costs but also in terms of risks that include community, worker and operations. Our staff routinely are involved in the following types of air related issues:

-- New Source Review Permitting
-- New Source Performance Standards (NSPS) Compliance
-- National Emissions Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP)/ Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT) Compliance
-- Air Dispersion Modeling and Health Risk Modeling
-- Emissions Inventories
-- Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Services
-- Air Pollution Control Evaluation, Design and Installation
-- Emission Reduction Credit Acquisition and Trading
-- Regional and National Cap and Trade Programs
-- Risk Management Planning
-- Best Available Control Technology (BACT) Analysis
-- Compliance Auditing
-- Air Pollution control Evaluation, Design and Installation
-- Agency Negotiations
