Improving cold storage equipment

By on March 29, 2013

- Reduce energy consumption by up to 40% by improving refrigeration equipment.
- Reduction of direct and indirect emissions from cold food storage.

Refrigeration accounts for around 35% of electricity consumption in the food industry, and poses problems regarding the loss of refrigerants, which have a high global warming potential. The ICE-E project will contribute to reducing the energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions from the European food cold storage sector, through the application of energy efficient equipment choices in line with European policy.
