Insert videos in your Sustainability Reports
In 2011, The North Face created a short five minute video of its Sustainability Report, narrated by their head of sustainability. Fast forward two years and a number of other companies have embraced video storytelling to illustrate sustainability reports.
The Co-operative 2012 Sustainability Report is a good example. Short and succinct (just over three minutes in length) the report offers a digestible and interesting overview of The Co-operative's sustainability data, achievements and goals.
AT&T takes a different approach, choosing to provide short "talking head" video introductions to the different sections of its Sustainability Report. Though perhaps a little dry for a general consumer audience, each video snippet is available via YouTube and some include partners from outside the company describing AT&T's commitment to running a clean energy fleet of vehicles for example.
Novo Nordisk uses hand-drawn animation to clearly explain its commitment to fighting diabetes - a major theme of the Danish company's 2012 I Report. Using the animation technique Novo Nordisk makes what could be a "dull but worthy" topic come alive and grab the interest of online audiences.
